2010 Preliminary ISAT Scores
Posted 5/26/2010 12:00 AM
Frazier International received its preliminary ISAT scores this week. These preliminary scores are what is called the "SAT10" - the portion of the test that is able to be compared to scores of other students around the country. SAT10 scores are not released publicly because there will be modest changes after the entire test is scored, including extended response answers and answers to other parts of the multiple choice ISAT test.
Based on Frazier estimates for students meeting and exceeding standard, we expect that our scores will again increase modestly over the 2009 scores that placed us as the highest performing school in Area 7 and in the top 100 schools (out of more than 500) in Chicago.
If our estimates are accurate, we will receive two state awards in 2010: The School Spotlight award for maintaining high standards for our students, and the school improvement award for gaining more than 15 percentage points in two years.
Also, 86% of our first graduating class (the class of 2011) will likely be eligible to apply to selective enrollment high schools in Chicago. Scores for this group and others have increased noticeably in their time at Frazier. Only 71% of these students would have been able to apply to selective enrollment high schools based on their 2008 scores. Thus, 15% more students are able to apply to selective enrollment high schools next year as a result of their learning at Frazier International.
Congratulations to all the students and staff at Frazier International for their continued hard work that helps us grow our minds each and every year.
