Who We Are
An inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human.
People use their senses to gather information about the world around them. Our culture and the place we're raised affects our sense of responsibility. The human body is a complex system of many interdependent parts Our words and actions can impact our personal relationships Emotional, physical, and academic activities create balance in our interactions with the world. Conflict and cooperation between people can result in destruction of people and property
Where We Are in Time and Place
An inquiry into orientation in place and time; personal histories; homes and journeys; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind; the relationships between and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations, from local and global perspectives.
Community helpers impact our quality of life Shelters vary by time, place and purpose. Geographical factors and surroundings  impact how societies work together in the past and present Leaders of the past have influenced the societies of today. Historical migration and immigration patterns affect the culture of our communities today Technology created in the past affects our lives today and in the future
How we express ourselves
An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas, feelings, nature, culture, beliefs and values; the ways in which we reflect on, extend and enjoy our creativity; our appreciation of the aesthetic.
Culture impacts creativity and design Stories are told for a variety of purposes Societies/cultures throughout the world are interconnected through art and communication forms Dance is a form of communication Humans communicate through non-verbal means including symbols, color textures, and tone. Art helps us express who we are and what values we hold as a people.
How the world works
An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment.
The changing seasons of the Earth affect how people live The food we eat is determined by environmental, economic, and cultural factors Balance and Motion afe affected by environmental and human intervention Animals usually have a way of ensuring the continuation of  the species. Varying landscapes/environments shape the living organisms that inhabit the landscape Biogenetic makeup and environmental influences define who we are and give us the diversity we see within all species
How we organise ourselves
An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the structure and function of organizations; societal decision-making; economic activities and their impact on humankind and the environment.
Our school is a community that helps us to live and learn together with other people Time is an important tool to help us organize our daily lives Individuals create structure through families, communities, and governments Personal economics affects the way we organize commerce in our society The type of government in a country(borne out of historical events) affects future government policy, human rights, and the economy of the country Citizens impact policies regarding provision of civil rights (human rights) that are determined by governments
Sharing the planet
An inquiry into rights and responsibilities in the struggle to share finite resources with other people and with other living things; communities and the relationships within and between them; access to equal opportunities; peace and conflict resolution.
There is a cyle of life in the products we use every day Humans and animals have an interdependent relationship Where we live affects what we need, want and use. Water is a finite resource in infinite demand. Humans impact their landscape, available resources, and coexistence with other organisms through social, technological, and economic choices. How specific personal and societal choices that humans make affect local, regional and global ecosystems (OR) Exhibition: Service Fair
